Le bandiere di un'antica famiglia che nel 1300 aveva combattuto con successo per l'indipendenza dal Regno d'Aragona!

More than 100 supporters of the movement for an independent Sardinia broke into Silvio Berlusconi's villa on the island on Saturday, proclaiming that they were "reclaiming the sovereignty of our soil.

Villa Certosa, 2,600 square metres of luxury in 60 hectares of gardens, is the Italian Prime Minister's favourite holiday home, where he has hosted the Blairs, Vladimir Putin and other leaders. The protesters cut through bushes and scaled a low wall to get in. Police ejected them after half an hour.

CAGLIARI, Italy (Reuters) - About 100 Sardinian separatists have broken into Prime Minister Silvio
Berlusconi's luxury villa to protest against symbols of the Italian state on the Mediterranean island.

The activists reached the villa's swimming pool on Saturday before being thrown out by police, said Gavino
Sale, head of the Indipendentzia Repubrica Sardigna (IRS), movement.

"Our gesture today has a largely political meaning. It is the affirmation of the sovereignty of Sardinians on their
own land which is at stake for us," Sale said.

Some Sardinians want independence from Italy which they accuse of smothering their culture and their widely
spoken local language, Sardo.

Berlusconi, Italy's richest man, has also come under fire from environmentalists for building a replica Greek
amphitheatre at Villa Certosa, his mansion on the largely protected Sardinian coast.

Protesters make a mockery of security at Berlusconi villa

ABOUT a hundred flagwaving Sardinian separatists marched into the grounds of Silvio Berlusconi’s summer home at the weekend, easily breaching the supposed high security at the Villa Certosa.
The activists jumped over the wall separating the Italian Prime Minister’s estate from a neighbouring property and wandered around between the recently built amphitheatre and swimming pools, taking souvenir photographs of each other.



Armed guards finally appeared and put a stop to the incursion as helicopters circled in the sky, but not before Gavino Sale, leader of the Indipendèntzia Repùbrica de Sardigna (Independent Republic of Sardinia) movement, gave a speech and telephoned colleagues demonstrating in Cagliari, the island’s capital, to announce “Mission accomplished”. The separatists came within a few hundred yards of the Sardinian residence where Signor Berlusconi has entertained Tony Blair and Vladimir Putin with evenings of song and tours of his cactus collection. President Bush is among the guests expected this year.

A hidden cave entrance, accessible only by sea, was built last year and the 150-acre property has a sophisticated surveillance system supposedly able to register any movement around its borders. Heavy building work last year prompted environmentalists and the opposition to demand information, and local prosecutors asked to inspect the grounds to check for infringements of building regulations. But the inspection was blocked by the Interior Ministry, which imposed state secrecy on the entire site, including the amphitheatre, swimming pools and an artificial lake.

Saturday’s half-hour exploit by separatists was all the more galling because they had announced a high-profile protest action in advance and the coach-load of activists even had a police escort to Porto Rotondo, the nearest town.

Signor Sale said: “We want to re-establish the sovereignty of the Sardinian people. The occupation by Signor Berlusconi and the military bases is illegitimate.” He advised the Government to begin talks with US military authorities which have bases on the island, “otherwise 3,000 of us will go to Villa Certosa next time”.

The separatists, who are clearly hoping that their escapade will win their leader votes in a coming provincial vote, are expected to face charges of illegally entering private property

Une centaine de militants indépendantistes sardes ont réussi samedi à s'introduire dans la propriété du chef du gouvernement italien Silvio Berlusconi sur l'île pour «reprendre ce qui est à nous», ont-ils expliqué avant d'être chassés par la police.


«Nous sommes ici pour reprendre ce qui est à nous», a expliqué le leader du mouvement «Indipendenzia Repubrica Sardinia» (Irs), Gavino Sale, organisateur de cette action.

Les militants indépendantistes sont passés par une propriété mitoyenne, et déjouant l'imposant service de sécurité, sont arrivés jusqu'à l'une des piscines proches de la villa Certosa.

«Nous considérons illégitime l'occupation de la terre sarde que ce soit par «le Premier» ou par l'armée», a insisté Gavino Sale.

«Devant l'arrogance du pouvoir italien et l'absence de la classe politique, il faut des actions capables d'alerter l'opinion sarde», a-t-il souligné.

Les militants du mouvement IRS réclament l'indépendance de la Sardaigne et accusent l'État italien «d'occuper l'île depuis 150 ans, de la piller et de la saccager».

Résidence estivale préférée de Silvio Berlusconi, la Villa Certosa, située en bord de mer près de Porto Rotondo, au nord-ouest de la Sardaigne, est l'une de ses nombreuses propriétés en Italie.


Elle est entrée dans le domaine public lorsque le chef du gouvernement italien a décidé de l'utiliser pour recevoir des dirigeants étrangers amis, comme le fait le président américain George W. Bush avec son ranch au Texas. Il a notamment reçu le président russe Vladimir Poutine et le Premier ministre britannique Tony Blair, venu avec son épouse.

La villa a une surface habitable de 2500 mètres carrés, un terrain de 50 hectares, six piscines, dont une couverte, une plantation de 2000 cactus, un petit lac et un amphithéâtre. Et des travaux ont été réalisés pour l'équiper d'une jetée.

L'opposition accuse M. Berlusconi de ne pas avoir obtenu toutes les autorisations nécessaires pour réaliser ces travaux et dénonce leur impact sur le paysage.

Deux décrets ont été signés par le ministre de l'Interieur Giuseppe Pisanu le 6 juin 2004 pour les mesures de protection du chef du gouvernement et de sa famille contre la menace terroriste. L'une des disposition place ses résidences privées et celles des membres de sa famille sous la protection du secret d'État et donc impose une autorisation du chef du gouvernement pour pouvoir y accéder.
